Today the musical world is changing. What used to be just a
place for composers and musicians has now become a world where anyone can make
music even if they're not exactly musically inclined (like me). All you need is
a few items that give off different sounds and bam, you just created a piece of
art. Sounds easy, huh? My creativity and the arts class had an assignment, you
had a band consisting of you and three other people and you had to write a
composition for everyone in your band with the instruments you pick. I am
genuinely not very good at music so I decided to write a straight piece, easy
to interpret and easy to play. As seen in the picture below. My four
instruments were keys dragging on a water bottle, banging a water bottle with
change in it, drumming on a box and snapping a clapping. Each person had their
own instructions on how to play and when to play. My main goal for this was to
have one instrument come in at a time until they all played together,
alternating rhythms, then I wanted them to fade out one at a time. This was to
show how music can be just for one person but with the addition of more people,
it can turn into a piece too difficult to do on your own. Since I did not
believe I could make a piece like this on my own I wanted to show others that
they can create a piece that’s easy to do individually but almost impossible to
do on your own.
(I couldn't figure out how to rotate these so tilt your head to the left as you try to read what is happening)
